Hi- I tried to get some fresh basil at the Evanston farmer's market Saturday, but I was not able to get there until 10:00am, and by the time I got there, it was mostly gone. I want to make lots of pesto to stick in my freezer, and I know that there is a good chance of frost this weekend. I have a few plants on my balcony, but not enough to make more than one batch of basil. Unfortunately I have a prior committment in Wilmette this Saturday morning, and I won't be able to make it to either the Evanston farmer's market until probably 11:00am. As far as I know First Orchards is the only grower that brings basil to the Wilmette market. There are at least four growers that bring it to the Evanston market, but I am afraid by the time I make it to either market, they are going to be out, and this Saturday is probably going to be the last time they have fresh basil. Are there any other places in the Evanston area I could get 5 or more bunches of basil. I might be willing to go to the Andersonville market tomorrow, if I can find some there. I don't have the time tomorrow to go to Green City. Are there any produce places that might have it by the bunch or bag at a reasonable cost? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Nancy
