A new bakery, House of Breads, has opened in a strip mall in Wheeling. It's a small bakery with no seating of any kind; a purely retail business. They specialize in eastern European breads, particularly rye breads. At our visit, they had about 6 kinds of rye breads, a multi-grain, a cranberry walnut and a ciabatta (with poppy seeds).
We bought the Bavarian rye, which was good. It was clearly very fresh. Although they have just a few sweets on hand, I purchased a poppy seed and raisan sweet roll of some kind (didn't get the name) that was outstanding.
