Opened this month at 42 S. Clark. These are the Amish people who run the stand along Dearborn at the the Daley Plaza Farmers Market. They are from Middlebury, IN. I've been buying their cheese for the past couple of years and was excited to see that it will be available all year long.

Took a quick at the store while doing errands at lunch time. Had a nice assortment of baked goods, nut crunches, granola, pickled vegetables and relishes. Picked up some chipotle chedder. Discounts for multiple purchases of cheese and items in jar. Had hand packaged spices, spice mixes and dried soup mixes at pretty good prices. Dried pastas and noodles. Amish butter (long large rounds - 2 lbs?).

Their week day hours are 7:30am to 4:00pm. Sorry, but I didn't notice if they were open on the weekends. I might check it out first thing in the morning to see if they have fresh baked bread.

There were quite a few people in the store about 1:00pm today. Hope they are successful.

Thanks for the update. I would love to stop in, wasn't sure if this was a pop-up store specifically for the holidays, but still plan to grab a few last minute items for presents next week.

Glad you posted the hours. I see them open when I walk out near the McD's across the street, and good to know it's closed by the time I head home. Either need a few extra minutes in the morning or run over on a lunch break. Thinking I can grab a few things for my grandma's present, so tough picking up things for an 88-year old woman who doesn't need much 'stuff' in her life.

    thanks,
    miss ellen

I was told that they are hoping that this will be a permanent location.

Also, they are closed on the weekends.

As for presents, who wouldn't like some hot pickled okra!

We make periodic forays to Amish country to pick up cheese, meats and other goodies. Rise & Roll is always on our list. I can't vouch for the shop in the loop, but the original bakery is delicious! I hope they do well!

Picked up two gifts yesterday (dutch apple jam and pickled okra) and couldn't resisit a sample of the fresh donuts on my way out. They had their cinnamon dusted donuts cut up into bite sized pieces.

INCREDIBLE! So much so, I picked up two 6-packs of donuts for the office today and they are promptly being enjoyed by my co-workers.

After today, the store is closed until Jan 8th. Can't wait to go back to try some of the cheese.

    Enjoy,
    miss ellen
