Was wondering if anyone knows of a good spot to pick up some vintage glassware for cocktails. Am fine with old martini glasses, champagne coupes, whatever. Just needs to look decent and be cheap. Certainly not looking for antique quality and don't want to spend more than a few dollars per stem.

I've found that estate sale shops are better than Salvation Army, for instance. Antique shops are fine, but they have to be pretty low-end or else it's just too expensive.

Wicker Park/Ukranian Village would be best.

Thanks so much for the help.

My wife and I bought some really cool vintage old fashioned glasses from the 1950s at a store in Andersonville called Room Service. They were something like $8 per glass. I don't remember if they had martini glasses or coupes, but I'm sure their stock changes pretty regularly. The staff was really friendly and I'm sure could give you some advice, if they don't have anything suitable in stock.

There are a lot of other vintage stores in that area, some have nice, higher-end stuff; some have junk; and some have decent stuff at unbelievably high prices. Room Service has a nice mix of new and vintage stuff and good prices.

It's not in the city, but it's a fun drive, and there's lots to choose from-
Out at Volo auto museum, they have about 5 antique malls, and you don't have to pay the admission to shop.
Most are very reasonable, and almost all are open to reasonable offers.

Check out Posh on state street. Very knowledgeable staff. I bought flatware from them last summer when our dishwasher ate all of our Ikea utensils.
