Hi- They had a farmer's market today at the Unitarian Church, 2100 Half Day Road in Deerfield. I have several friends that live in Deerfield , and I informed them about it. One of my friends just emailed me that he and his wife stopped by the church this morning, and could not find a parking place. He said that church was going on, and the lot was probably full just from that, and that on the street parking is not very plentiful in that neighborhood. He finally gave up and went back home. Did anybody else have problems getting a parking space there today? BTW this same outfit is putting on a farmer's market on 2/20 at the United Church of Roger's Park, 1545 Morse in Chicago from 9:00am-1:00pm. I hope to make it to that one. Thanks, Nanchy

    HI,

I am familiar with the Unitarian Church in Deerfield. Not only do parishners use their own parking lot, they have access to the corporate parking lot adjacent to theirs on weekends. It does not suffer from lack of parking.

I went to this towards the end of the market (post 1 PM) and there was ample parking.

There was very little fresh produce by the time I got there. It's possible they had other foodstuffs earlier, but most of what I saw was preserved.

River Valley Kitchens was there so I did pick up some cremini mushrooms. Seedlings was there with cider and preserves, Tomato Mountain also there with preserves and salsas, a Wisconsin cheese place doing their thing, and a meat vendor selling various cuts, chickens and eggs.

I was hoping to find apples or dark leafy greens, but no such luck.

As at all Winter Farmer's markets, there were plenty of yarns and soaps.
