Valentine cookie decorations-mass quantities

I just volunteered to bake heart shaped sugar cookies for my girl's class. 40-50 cookies. We are going to have the kids decorate them. So I have to get sprinkles, dots, jimmies etc as well. Does anyone know of a place that sells this stuff in bulk? I live in the north suburbs and don't want to drive far in the snow. I can make the frosting. Any suggestions would be helpful. I am thinking about putting bowls of frosting and decorations and a plastic knives.

Ask your local grocery store bakery to sell you some of their sprinkles, dots, or colored sugars. Most stores like Jewel are happy to do this.
Other cool decorations for little fingers are Valentine "conversation hearts", cinnamon red hots, Valentine colored M & M's, and heart shaped gummies.
If you are ambitious, you can roll out large gum drops and cut them into heart shapes for the kiddies.

At times I've seen bulk sugars etc. at GFS Marketplace, not sure if they have them regularly or at certain holidays. Looks like the furthest north is Palatine.

Sometimes craft stores are the best source for this stuff - give a call to your local Michael's or a store of its ilk.
