Does anyone know where I can buy fresh ostrich eggs for monstrous deviled eggs in or around Chicago?

I hope you're not planning a surprise for the LTH picnic - but you might PM nr706 and ask how he got the one he brought to it a couple years ago.

    Got it from Fossil Farms:

scroll down the page to get to the fresh eggs.

    Two caveats:
    They're not cheap
Don't count on just cracking the shell. I used a hacksaw.

    Good luck!

Sounds like those eggs are so hard, the guys in Rockford could just catapult them over to Chicago!

    Hi,

In the Cincinnati area, there is always Jungle Jim's. When I was there seven years ago, Ostrich eggs were available for $10. Unfortunately none available they day I visited.

One ostrich egg yields the equivalent of 18 chicken eggs.

    Regards,
