How long can a wedding cake sit out? Hi, I'm creating a wedding cake this may to be delivered 1.5 hours away. I was planning on delivering it around 3pm however the the reception does not start until 5 or 6 i believe. Just curious as to whether or not it will hold that long (5-6hours) without refridgeration. Thanks.

I don't really know the answer, but a key piece of information that's missing is what is it going to be frosted and filled with? A fondant and royal icing covered cake will last longer than a whipped cream covered one.

Can you pre-assemble some of the pcs and then put all of it together on site? Will you have access to a kitchen? Like Rickster said...it depends on what you are filling it with and what the icing is. If its whipped cream / buttercream, maybe you can frost and decorate in the 3 hr window that you have.

Also find out if the place is air-conditioned or at least cool. If not, your buttercream will melt off and I'm not sure what would happen with fondant or marzipan, but I bet it won't be pretty—most likely sweaty and soft.
