It's hog heaven for pork lovers

Ham lovers quickly snatched up those first ibéricos despite starting prices of more than $1,400 for a 16-pound whole, bone-in ham. The first Jabugo hams will go even higher. One website already advertises a pre-order special of $1,795 for a 5J ham.

I presume those buying the whole leg were mainly restaurants and retail outlets, not individuals. In any case, $80/lb seemed like the going rate to buy a plate of iberico ham at restaurants.

I certainly can't buy a whole leg, but I'll surely get my fill...a few slices at a time
