About five years ago or so, the Lovely Dining Companion ordered a few boxes of oatmeal (rolled oats, not steel cut, as I recall) and some pancake mix from a company out west. (I want to say Oregon, but I might be wrong). The name of the company was two first names, like Bob and Carol's. The oatmeal and the pancake mix both came in dark green boxes and although the oatmeal didn't strike me as anything unusual, the pancake mix was pretty damn good (even more remarkable in light of the fact that you were adjured to add water only, no eggs, no milk).

I have tried for longer than I'd care to admit to find this company online. I can't. And I cannot for the life of me recall their name. I realize that this is a very long shot but, is anyone fmailiar with the company I'm talking about?

Maybe Bob's Red Mill, located in Oregon?

Nope, thanks. Their stuff is generally available in stores like Jewel and Dominick's. This was two names, a man's and a woman's and was only available by mail order.

Poppycock's in Aspen, CO has oatmeal pancakes, and I think sells a mix.

    Um, Amy?

And, note to all: apparently I wasn't clear in my request. They sell rolled oats and they also sell a pancake mix. Separate items.

I appreciate all the suggestions. Really. But this may be too arcane. Or, I suppose, it's conceivable that they are no longer around.

Could it be Mindy and Tom's Rustic Grains, from Jackson Hole, Wyoming?

Ah, Kennyz, thank you. For the suggestion, that is. Sadly, that's not the place.

This is beginning to bug the heck out of me--the price of an aging brain, I guess. Should i ever recall or otherwise discover it, I will post. But for now, it appears to be lost in the mists of time.

Hallelujah!! Praise the Lord!! And the Lovely Dining Companion who finally remembered: Christine and Rob's. They don't have a very large product line but I highly recommend the pancake mix for anyone interested.

Oh, and I was right about one other thing. They're in northwestern Oregon.
