We're all set for our veggies for now, but I've been pondering a meat/poultry CSA share; an egg option would be a bonus. Does anyone have any experiences/recommendations to share? We're a 2-person household, but we like to cook for friends, too, so an occasional huge roast woudn't be an obstacle. We don't have a ton of freezer space, though. But we do love our lamb, so Mint Creek Farm (http://mintcreekfarm.com/our-csa/) looked especially interesting.

I'd recommend C&D Family Farms especially for a small household. From my experience this winter, Crystal is flexible about when you get your deliveries so if you want to get your share on a different schedule than exactly once a month it shouldn't be a problem. Another plus is that they are at multiple locations all over the city at various times during the week so arranging to pick up your share is pretty easy.

I have been more than happy with the quality of everything I have gotten from her and all of the meat for my super bowl party came from them this year. I will be re-upping with them again once my freezer recovers from a final delivery from my old CSA and a trip to MacFarlane's Pheasant Farm in Janesville.

Hmmm...now a friend is interested in splitting a share (but she has no clue how to cook meat, and doesn't cook much at all, so wants to make it sort of a social thing; pickup, and then come to our place for group cooking lessons). So share size may be less of an issue.

A very enthusiastic second on C&D Farms--I have loved everything I've ordered from them and their eggs are wonderful. They are flexible, reasonably priced and offer a terrific selection of meat and poultry.
