Knafeh better than Jaafer Sweets?

Post #1 - October 27th, 2011, 5:02 amI have some colleagues in town from the West Bank, and someone else in our office picked up several trays of knafeh from Jaafer Sweets yesterday for lunch. Steep comparison of course, but the Jaafer knafeh was a pretty sad rendition compared to what can be had in Nablus. The Jaafer knafeh wasn't bad, just kind of dull and dry. I've only eaten knafeh maybe two or three times in Chicago, but it had been a while. Are there better sources here?

Knafeh from Al Aqsa Sweets in Nablus' old city in the West Bank. The best. Pure molten gold.
Try Bridgeview's Nablus Sweets for some of the better, if not best, in Chicago (a north-side location closed a few years ago)
