Ellengee opened for retail about 3 weeks ago. They are selling bulk meat at almost wholesale prices. Currently there's a display case being installed to showcase products and it will be ready next week.
They do take credit and debit cards.
This isn't the place, right now, to go and buy one or two steaks for dinner. If you shop at Costco and buy bulk that would be a good comparison to Ellengee. With Ellengee having the edge on freshness compared to Costco.
Frank, the VP of sales told me all their beef product is IBP branded. All of it Choice grade. Product will come in cryovac packaging unless you are buying a smaller amount which they'll cut there.
Cops and firemen have been buying product there for a while and was told they all say you can't beat the price and quality.
I'm going to try a bulk purchase of ribeye. It's something I can take and cut to desired thickness to cook with.
