It's the first week of May and we've gone through the peas (sparse; too hot) lettuce, and scallions. Tomato plants are 4' tall with green tomatoes somewhat larger than a golf ball. The tag claimed it's a determinate variety, but I'm not sure as they show no sign of slowing down.

Local farms have Vidalia onions (right on schedule), green beans, zucchini and yellow crookneck.

The strawberries are about done, but what a great crop this year! Very firm (not much rain) and VERY sweet.

The first roadside peach stand has opened up near Fort Valley.

    Hi,

From what I know of peach season in Georgia, it lasts from May until August (maybe early September). Is this annual crop on schedule and not particularly early?

    Regards,
