Star Fruit/Carambola: Where to buy in the burbs?

Hi All,

I have been unable to locate Carambola at any of my local markets in the greater Schaumburg area for about 3 months now. Valii's, Whole Foods, Jewel and Dominicks haven't been carrying it, and I shop those locations several times a month. I've checked Caputo's twice and they do not have it either.

Has anyone seen this fruit at market lately?

It was at Lincolnwood produce last week. If they can get it then anyone can.

Not around Schaumburg, but I saw them at Fresh Farms in Niles this past weekend.

Lots of Star Fruit and many other slightly more exotic fruits at Super H Mart in Naperville, and I'd assume in Niles as well.

I saw star fruit today at the whole foods in wheaton. Its near the fresh cactus. A little hard to find so ask.

The Super Tony's in Niles had them over the weekend. Embarrassed to say I've never tried them, decided to spend my grocery budget on the huge cherries, as usual for me.
