Fairway Stores had its IPO this week with corresponding buzz and excitement. Buried a little further down in the story is their announced plans to
add 300 stores nationwide. Good news on many levels but their appeal was in sourcing unusual or higher-quality products at lower price points (Trader Joe's model crossed with WF). Not sure how that meshes with mega-expansion. Wil likely force Mariano's to further up its game.
