Where can I find a really good gluten-free chocolate dessert for the office to share? It only has to be big enough for 6 people. Niles, Bronzeville, or somewhere between the two, please!

Why don't you bake? It's expensive, but most gluten-free things are, but Keller's C4C can be used successfully in whatever recipe you like or you can alway get ice cream.

No one has noticed a difference when I've baked with C4C.

Or you could make a flour less chocolate cake...

I just made a gluten free wedding cake with C4C and everyone loved it. Before baking, the consistency of the dough is a little odd- kind of gelatinous or viscous. But it baked up beautifully.

    Hi,

You may want to call Fresh Farms in Niles.

That's what I would do if it wasn't 80 degrees in here. When the temp hits 90+, I say bye bye to the oven! Plus, it's covered in oven-cleaning schmutz. Fume-free, my ass.

The Green Grocer has these AMAZING flourless chocolate cookies called chocolate pebbles that some bakery I can't remember makes. You might call them to see if they are in stock.

Forgot to mention Rose's GF Bakery in Evanston, though I have not tried anything chocolate from there.

You don't actually have to bake if you make an ice cream pie. Just crumble some storebought GF cookies, combine with melted butter, press into pie pan and freeze. Pile in softened GF ice cream and decorate with GF chocolates. Freeze again. (Transporting it might be an issue, but I have a soft-sided wheeling cooler that is as easy to manage as a light carry-on.) That's my DIY version of a good GF chocolate dessert.

I bought gluten free chocolate pebbles at the Farmers Market on the north side (but they set up downtown on market days too in Daley plaza) from the Lawrence Ave Bakery Delightful Pastries - they are on Lawrence Ave on the Northwest side. They are so so delicious I buy them every weekend - although if you aren't there really early they are gone! I am now going to experiment with my own. Expensive but hey if you do not cook they are worth it and :D fabulous - chocolate nuts and rich flavor. Enjoy

Hiya! Checking back to see if there are any new bakeries in town that have gluten-free. Chocolate a bonus.

    Thanks!

I have had good luck finding gluten-free baked goods for my Aunt at both West Town Bakery and the bakery counter between Stella Barra and Summer House. Lot's of different options when I've checked like cookies, cake and brownies.

Defloured has opened a storefront in Andersonville. We recently had a red velvet cake from them that was darn tasty.
