Party Trays

Could this be the first Christmas post of 2013?

I am looking for a place near 35th & State that will make up a party tray for roughly 30 people. The food needs to be substantial like a main course, i.e. sandwiches, chicken, deli meat, etc. This needs to be delivered during the workday. Not too expensive.

There is a Jewel nearby but zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Any ideas?

Mariano's just opened at 1600-block of South Clark.

Eleven City Diner also does nice platters.

At this point you probably know what's available in the neighborhood as well as I do. Mr Spanky's main business is catering. Why not stop by and talk with him? A big platter of fried chicken and a pan of peach cobbler from Pearl's Place would probably be a big hit. How about a selection of pies from Pleasant House? And don't forget jim shoes and pizza puffs from Southtown Sub.

Schnitzel King is located right next to Cork and Kerry and across street from Armor Park. Could always ask the King. His stuff is always good

Isn't GNR Pleasant House Bakery nearby? Give them a ring.

Potbelly does trays of sandwiches as well as subway.

Pannozo's Might be too expensive but it is on the near southside.

Panozzo's variety certainly fits the bill, and the food is terrific.

I also immediately thought of Panozzo's - they would be able to offer precisely what you want, and can do everything from simple meat/cheese plates all the way up to full entrees.

That being said, I'm not sure I would really consider 13th/Michigan to be "near" 35th/State, though I suppose it depends on your perspective. Something in Bridgeport would probably be more convenient.

And, while Panozzo's doesn't really break the bank, I wouldn't consider it terribly affordable, compared to places like Mariano's. The food is terrific, really high quality, and everyone there knows what they are doing - but you definitely pay for it.

If it fits your budget and the distance is manageable, I think it would be a slam dunk. I routinely grab Panozzo's for Ravinia, and everyone that comes with me raves about it.
