Thanksgivukkah (by me, Nathanskkah) is coming!
This year, due to the peculiarities of the Jewish calendar, the first day of Hanukkah falls on November 28, 2013—Thanksgiving—a once in 70,000-years event. My son Nathaniel’s 21st birthday also happens to be the day before, so my family will be celebrating three special days in one, which my daughter is calling Nathanskkah.
We have been trying to think how to incorporate a little Hanukkah in our Thanksgiving, I mean, Nathanskkah, but greater minds than mine have been hard at work on this. The

Buzzfeed’s suggested menu for this unique holiday. I had already thought of latkes with cranberry sauce, but some of their other dishes, such as Brussels sprouts with pastrami and pickled onion, sound pretty good. I’m not so sure about Manischewitz-brined turkey, however.
