C&C meats - local, fresh lamb and goat, whole or part

This pleases me... C&C is a new wholesale butcher shop at 3300 S. Archer that will be specializing in lamb and goat. I stopped by and talked with the owner, and he told me the animals come from farms nearby, either IL or IN, and are never frozen. They are slaughtered in Chicago and delivered fresh.

Prices seemed very reasonable. I appreciate it when "local" and "fresh" aren't used as excuses for price jacking! I'll be picking up a goat leg tomorrow at $3.39/lb. Whole animals are available, but he said he could supply whatever cut you are looking for. While I was there I spotted some goat chops in the fridge which i think were priced at $4.49/lb. I will be cooking the leg for thanksgiving, and will let you know how it tasted!

I live in the neighborhood (37th and Damen) and still have yet to go to this place.

Any updates? anyone else bought anything from here? Was thinking of getting some goat then renting a few movies from Video Strip across the street.
