How long will it be before those cute, funny pigs, running loose in the street cause grandma to go left of center and tag a kid on the sidewalk?? It's one thing to legally be able to raise livestock because of property lines and zoning laws, it's another to be a good neighbor.
I predict this isn't going to end well.... at best, he's probably raised his last batch of hogs, at worst, someone with a dead loved one will own that farm.
Anyone who raises livestock has had animals get out. The difference is, this is well documented now, and the next time it happens, will be the last time it happens. I'm guessing his insurance man has already been ringing his doorbell.... this is the kind of thing where a phone call won't be sufficient.
I hope I'm wrong.......

In our neck of the woods here it's common for cattle and chickens to get out and about and there hasn't been any problem, it comes with the territory of living in the country such as I do. I'm sure he's consulted his insurance company about this and I doubt he would be pursuing this if there was too much risk involved. Tim, do you farm? Have you raised livestock of any kind before?
