Has anyone made anything with almond paste for an outdoor bake sale? There's one coming up and I was thinking of topping desserts with tiny marzipan kittens, but how hot does it have to be outside for them to soften and become unrecognizable? Would it go bad? (Each item would be individually wrapped.)

I believe it is pretty stable shape-wise as it warms up. I've seen plenty of marzipan that isn't refrigerated; I think it will be fine. Even the online recipes for homemade marzipan say that it does not need to be kept cold. The marzipan animals that ship from Germany survive that ordeal without problems, so I wouldn't worry about a bake sale.

    Hi,

You will need to put a note they are made from almonds to alert the allergy people.

I agree with mamagotcha's thoughts on their stability.
