On a recent trip to Tony's finer food, I saw frozen ripe plantains, soursop, tamarillo, naranjilla, and passion fruits from SAS. Apparently they want to be "the leading importer and distributor of food products in the U.S" and they're based just outside Chicago.

I personally love frozen fruits, but was wondering if anyone else can speak of the quality, since they come in pretty big packages.

Thanks for posting - which Tony's? I haven't been impressed with the store on Lincoln, but this may give me a reason to check it out again.

Are those the same frozen items that are sold at La Unica?

I've never been to La Unica.

I thought the Tony's I went to was mediocre too, with or without the frozen tropical fruits.
