Does anyone know whats going on with the new Butera's that was originally scheduled to open in February in the old Dominicks site in the Oaks at Oakton and Lee?
I called Butera's corporate office in March trying to get an answer and was told they would not discuss an opening date! This seem to be mighty secretive.
On another note, has anyone been to Joe Caputo's old store on Oakton? It appears they have reopened as evidenced by a few flyers from Red Plum!
Not sure how they pulled this off seeing as that Butera's (Piggly Wiggly) bought all their holdings, unless they cut a deal to rent it from them!

Des Plaines city officials confirmed that Nat Caputo, owner of the grocery business, has received building permits to open Joe's Fresh Market at 959 E. Oakton St.

They've (Caputo's) been open for about six weeks. Redesigned floor plan with easier, more spacious navigation. Inventory isn't as comprehensive as old version, but everything we need is there.

FWIW (shameless plug), they carry all four varieties of Roadhouse Bar-B-Que Sauce, at an excellent price.

I stopped in yesterday evening after reading in this thread that it reopened. What a yawn of a store and oddly arranged at that. I did not look at the barbeque sauce selection, though.

The Sam's Farmers Market east on Touhy at Lee/Mannheim might turn out to be interesting, though. Anyone have any news on the place? I can't find anything recent.
