Brief non-frigid weather has me thinking ahead to summer and backyard drinking. Has anyone used fruit purees as a blended cocktail base and are there any that you would recommend? I've seen several brands and I'd like an informed perspective (as opposed to spending $20-$30 for a container of disappointment).

I have used the frozen Goya packs. They are pretty widely available.

I also like canned Alfonso mango puree. I've gotten this at stores on Devon

And I buy açai puree, which comes in frozen packs at most grocery stores. I get the unsweetened variety

I haven't used these, but their syrups are good. I think this link should get you a 10% discount if you sign up for their emails. Free shipping, too, if you order enough.

I've used these mainly for brewing, but they'll work well in other cooking and baking applications, too. Amazon carries their products.

Thanks, all. The Goya ones are appealing for the tropical flavors and I never considered the Oregon whole fruit options. Monin looks good but the first ingredient is sugar, so it's really more of a syrup. I found these in my online search and might try a few:

Aside from Goya brands available at some supermarkets, I also like Perfect Puree:

The Perfect Puree looks ... perfect. I'm going to order.

I'm a fan of the canned kesar mango puree available at Patel Bros and Fresh Farms on Devon Ave (and I'm sure elsewhere in the neighborhood). It's perfect for lassi -- I freeze the puree in ice cube trays, then blend a few cubes with yogurt and milk. The kesar variety of mango is far more aromatic than the frozen mango puree available in most groceries. It's also far cheaper; I don't recall the exact price but I'm pretty sure a 6-pack of 28oz cans is under $20. The only potential downside is that it's on the sweet side. It's fine for a lassi and probably for cocktails in which the other ingredients aren't too sweet. But it might be too sweet for other applications.
