For those of you who haven't been to a Jewish wedding and seen the beauty of the celebration-sized challah:

Today is my brother-in-law's wedding. One of my duties today was to pick up the challah. So, Tuesday I called Chaim's in Skokie and ordered a 5lb. challah. This morning I picked it up and it is now taking up 2/3rds of my dining room table. My mother-in-law said that it looks alive, so I named it "Charlie".

Charlie was priced at $3/lb. and he will meet his demise at my hand this evening. I have been given the honor of saying the blessing over the bread, slicing into Charlie, and taking the first bite.

    Best,
    Michael

Don't eat the apple by mistake. That never ends well.

I hate to tell you but it's NOT a challah and an apple. See here.
