As part of an ongoing Iron Chef competition, our circle o' pals is about to once again embark on the ingredient selection phase of our preparations. This time around, we thought it might be nice produce a list of food items that will be in season for our event as a starting point. I had assumed there would be a comprehensive list somewhere online, but so far I've been unable to find one. Anybody aware of a good list of seasonal foods online anywhere that we can link people to?

Angelic Organics has a chart on its site; you can probably find similar charts on other CSA sites.

The Guardian UK just printed a hokey poem on this subject. Representative quote:

In June, the veg are in full swing,
And so are some fruits, including:
    Blackcurrants, cherries and tomatoes
(They are a fruit, like avocados).
Berries too are on the loose,
The early ones, both straw and goose.

It's got meter issues and some creative rhyming, sure. Maybe it sounds better with a British accent. Full poem can be found here.

The Field Guide to Produce by Aliza Green is pretty handy, but it's not necessarily info. specific to local, seasonal produce--just general info. like strawberries are available year-round with peak supply in spring and summer.
