So, recently in Chicago (saturday), ABraus and a few friends hit Spoon for their new menu.
Everything was delectable, with highlights being the one-bite mackerel salad and the Isaan sausage (which I likened before to tasting as if I had just been punched in the nose, but this time I enjoyed thoroughly--less fermentation of the rice i think).
At any rate, an old favorite of mine there is the "Healthy Soup," on the regular menu, which, the waitor told me, is the same on the thai menu as the "spicy peppercorn curry with shrimp paste and whole shrimp (no coconut milk)".
I don't know if this is true, but I'm looking for a recipe that can recreate this wonderful 'Healthy Soup" (on the regular menu). It's a clear, almost miso-like broth with notable shrimp tang, and carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, and shrimp.
Anyone know how to recreate this lovely soup?
Thanks,
Parker
