Paulina Meat Market, Tuesday, around 11:30 am, to get supplies for Porc Guisat amb Fruita Seca; I decided to also get a ham hock and split peas to make soup later in the week, but couldn't find the latter:

Me: Do you have any split peas?

    First guy: Lemme check.

    (Talks to second guy.)

Second guy: We can't get 'em any more. The distributor stopped carrying split peas, lentils, all that stuff.

Me: Oh man, that's one of my standard meals. Pick up a ham hock, split peas--

Second guy: Lemme see if I can find another supplier.

    Me: Wow, great, thanks.

5:00 pm, return to Paulina to get smoked paprika for side dish added at last minute to main dish:

Second guy (spotting me): You were looking for lentils?

    Me: Split peas, actually.

Second guy: I found a supplier. We should have them in next week.
