I have a little more than a quarter acre of garlic planted and we're about to harvest the scapes. We will have BOATLOADS of scapes. They were grown all naturally, no pesticides, etc. I'd hate to see them go to waste. If you are interested, please contact me! lydia.choi87/gmail

If you are thinking of taking up this offer, here is one idea for using lots of garlic scapes (although not a quarter-acre, holy cats). Dorrie Greenspan has a recipe for garlic scape pesto:

Here someone did the same pesto, but with pistachios:

I'd be interested in taking some of them off your hands, but couldn't possibly use everything. Have you considered hooking up with a farmer who has a stand at any of the farmer's markets? I've been paying for garlic scapes at the market for the last few weeks, so there's definitely some demand for these, if you get into markets like Green City or Evanston, where people know how to use this product.

Where are you located? Are you willing to deliver these or do you want someone to pick them up? I can ask around at the Evanston market on Saturday, or you might want to try and send someone over to the Green City market tomorrow.

On the recipe front, I like to sautee the scapes briefly in oil, and then puree them into either storebought or homemade mayo. Very tasty and it keeps well.

More on the how to use 'em front:

I made this white bean and scape dip over the weekend. Very tasty on some D'Amatos filone.

The scapes are currently in Bloomington. I was going to make a run on Saturday to pick them up and if people were interested just do a big drop off somewhere in Chicago.

I would definitely be interested in hooking up with someone at the farmer's market who would be willing to sell them. I was going to sell them at $4/lb. I am really very open to any possible avenues to sell them.

I can ask around at the Evanston Farmer's Market on Saturday morning and see if anyone there would be willing to sell them for you.

Why don't you PM me and give me your contact info and I'll be in touch if I have any takers.

Hi- I receive Henry Brockman's newsletter by email every week. Henry comes to the Evanston market, and his farm is half way between Bloomington and Peoria. His sister Terra writes the newsletter, and tells what Henry is bringing to the market that week, and also provides recipes for some of the items he brings. I just read the latest newsletter, and he brought garlic scapes to the Evanston market last Saturday, and did not sell a single one. People did not know what to do with it. Well he is bringing some more this week, and Terra supplied a few recipes in the latest newsletter. Anybody that is looking for garlic scapes, please come to the Evanston farmer's market in downtown Evanston, and buy them from Henry. This is going to be the last week for garlic scapes. Hope this helps, Nancy

Yes, unfortunately I did not find enough interest either. Henry has such diverse produce and is so respected in the Bloomington community. Scapes were picked this last weekend, and they are done for the season now! So if you can get your hands on them please do so!
