    I am a published food writer (Hungry? Chicago Family Edition) and would like to find an outlet for more submissions.

    I'm interested in websites, newspapers or magazines that are interested in submissions about Chicagoland area restaurants and taverns, food retail, and food-related events.

    Please contact me to discuss opportunities or share information. I would love to get back into writing again. I want to write for an established medium rather than start a personal blog.

    I think your best bet is to go to the library and research publications and get Writer's Market and find out what's being bought and surf the 'net and then write proposals and/or query letters to the magazines/websites or whatever you think would be likely outlets for the specific ideas you have. Because magazines and websites aren't looking for writers, really -- they're looking for ideas that just happen to have writers attached to them.

    And when you sell some ideas and your articles are published, make sure you let us know, as it is always encouraging to the many writers on the forum to see the success of others in the community.

    The library! Of course! This web navigating thing is becoming a bitch. I'm coming up with nothing or very little. I'll be sure to let LTH know all about it.

    I'm being told a certain website that I've already submitted articles to will be "up and running soon" but I've been told that for many, many months now. I have little doubt that the site will materialize one day, but "soon" seems highly unlikely. Thus I have an itchy trigger finger, so to speak, and I want to get writing RIGHT NOW. But when that site is finally working, I will make sure and post that information too. Even if that means everyone finding out my real name. :wink:

    It will also, eventually, explain all or most of my bacon questions.

    Take a look at this website. Not food oriented but if you surf around there are some food writers registered. I think you have to join this but it might be a good idea.
