    HI,

It is entirely reasonable a restaurant may want to attempt to do the social media thing. Some have been successful on this board: Toons, Sun Wah, Edzo's.

They claim they are prior owners of Mapo in Naperville, this may be a place to check out. Just because they are clumsy at the social media game doesn't mean they don't have something to offer.

The Professional board is intended for people to introduce their businesses.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

Where did they introduce their business?
Wasn't this moved to the Professional Board by the mods? It still doesn't identify the poster as being affiliated with the restaurant. I understand what you are saying, but I don't think any of us posted anything unfriendly; we actually asked them to introduce themselves.

    Hi,

Who else would offer a 10% discount.

As I said before, it is clumsy. I actually called the restaurant, too, and they didn't communicate well on the phone, either.

If someone of limited English read the first poster's comments, then read the follow up. They may not interpret it friendly and encouraging.

If these people are related to Mapo, which someone said yesterday may be a top tier Chinese restaurant in our region. People will want to visit them. If they are fibbing, they just made a serious error in judgement.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

That was nice of you to call the restaurant. That's obviously a better solution that deleting the post.

(Maybe a happy customer was letting us know that the restaurant offers 10% off. We even have a thread about such deals.)

    Hi,

If they were in Kansas, it would be a pull.

I am really trying to correct this situation, before it works against them.
