DERBY, Lincoln Park’s newest bar bringing unique flare to the neighborhood, will celebrate its Grand Opening on December 16 at 1224 W. Webster, Chicago. DERBY brings a southern twist on the traditional bar and grill fare featuring menus inspired by the bluegrass state. Signature drinks include the Mint Julip with crushed ice, Strawberry Vodka Sweet Tea and the Arlington, with maple syrup, rye whiskey, grapefruit juice and syrup soaked cherries. Guests can also dive into some savory menu items including Fried Pickles, Corn Bread Skillet, Kentucky Hot Brown, Cheese Grits and Mac n Cheese variations. For dessert, Apple Pie A La Mode and Crumb Cake.

DERBY will also please even the pickiest in beer connoisseurs, featuring a wide selection of craft and tap beers, with 24 beers on draft. The space’s multiple flat screen televisions will always play the best in popular sports entertainment. Outside the bar, DERBY will boast an immense patio, spanning the entire east side of the building. This 12,000 square foot patio seats 100 and will feature its own bar. Additionally, it will be open year round due to a four seasoned room environment.

The entertainment continues with special events at DERBY, including viewing parties for the Kentucky Derby, Roller Derby, Arlington Million and other live action sporting events. Live Pinewood Derby Races are also in store for DERBY visitors, with the opportunity to purchase your own Pinewood race car on location. Hanging from the ceiling will be two authentic, antique Soap Box Derby race cars.

    DERBY will be open Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. until 2 a.m., Friday 11:30 a.m. until 2 a.m., Saturday 11:30 a.m. until 3 a.m. and Sundays, 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. For more information, please visit http://www.BigOnionTavernGroup.com.

Did Charlie's Ale House close, or is it being "re-concepted"?

I like the sound of that four-season patio.

I think it closed. I live down the street and this new place has been under construction for a while...
