Hey everyone. First off I'd like to come out and say that I DO work for the venues that I'm about to talk about. I don't want to be one of those guys posting a cryptic message with a hidden agenda especially since this forum seems unusually honest and respectful.

One of our restaurants, X/O, was just featured on "Check,Please" over the weekend. Fortunately all three "judges" were RAVING about the place. So much so that one of the owners said he's been getting tons of emails from friends and family jokingly asking "how much did you pay for that infomercial?"

As one would expect our phone has been ringing off the hook for reservations. That's the only setback to such great exposure. It's kind of hard to get a table soon after the broadcast of that show. However we're not complaining one bit!

The same executive chef, Bob Zrenner, who conceptualized the X/O menu has also put together the food menu at MIX. MIX is Lincoln Park's newest bar/lounge that serves amazing food. The menu is definitely NOT your typical bar food with items ranging from grilled, thin-crust pumpkin puree pizza and bleu cheese & sun-dried tomato mini-burgers to New Zealand braised lamb ribs in a spiced balsamic vinaigrette (my personal favorite).

If you're looking for a casual night with great food and a few drinks, MIX might be the perfect place if you're in the area.

hey, good to hear about your success!

i worked with bob zrenner at Tru back when we were young pups and i'm thrilled to hear that his food is being so well-received. i can't think of anyone i've worked with who deserves it more.

bob's a workhorse, a nice guy, and a great cook. his dishes are ambitious and interesting while still making sense within specific culinary traditions. i haven't made it over to X/O yet, or Mix, but i'll put them both on my list of places to try.

continued good luck and success to you and him in all your endeavors!

I went to X/O a month or two ago and I loved it! I want to go back!

    thejo,

Speaking of excellent conceptualization...this is the epitome posting of what we (or at least I) had conceptualized this board being used. Thanks, and I will make it a point to stop by Mix soon.
