I just purchased a copy of Dennis Foley's "The Streets and San Man's Guide to Chicago Eats" (Chicago: Lake Claremont Press, 2004, 118 pp. - available on Amazon). Foley works as an electrician for the Streets and Sanitation Department and has an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia College. The book, with considerable wit, describes the places that Foley and his colleagues eat.

Some of the restaurants mentioned are known to those on this list - Bari Foods, Nicky's, Vito and Nick's, Al's Beef, Wolfy's. Others are new to me (Stan's Drive-in [best sloppy joes, 3001 S. Archer, 773-376-0198] or Beggar's Pizza [best meatball sandwich, 3277 W. 115th St., Merrionette Park, 708-385-3434]) - although I haven't searched lth. Others [Crabby Kim's - bikini-clad waitresses - 3655 N. Western Ave., 773-404-8156], perhaps, are non-Chowist but amusing nonetheless.

The book also has a bunch of coupons, which rather makes me somewhat nervous, but I certainly will use the one for Vito and Nick's.

Has anyone else seen Foley's book? Comments?

The book was discussed briefly herewhen it first came out. It will be interesting to hear your take on it once you have had a chance to check out some of the places in the book that have not been discussed on LTH.
