Post #1 - December 10th, 2004, 12:38 amI met a most interesting woman tonight at a Preservation Chicago benefit (thanks for the invite, Leesh!). Her name is Shuli Eshel, and she just did a video documentary entitled "Maxwell Street: A Living Memory, The Jewish Experience in Chicago."
This documentary will be screened this Sunday, December 12, from 3-4:30 at the Chicago Historical Society. $5 admission. There will also be some readings by Roger Schatz, the author of Jewish Maxwell Street Stories.

Post #3 - December 10th, 2004, 5:34 amI have knoiwn Shuli for quite some time. She does some very interesting work and is dedicated to telling stories via the documentary. Last time I was at Manny's they were selling this video at the cashier.Steve Z.

Thanks hattyn; I edited the original post (moral of story: don't try to write post filled with details after party followed by jibaritos and late night viewing of The Seventh Seal which, as you know, is one of my favorite signs/movies.
