Last time I was there about a month ago, Bobby mentioned that he is going to try for Wine Spectator's Grand Award. He said it'll take a couple of years to get up to 1,500 wines required. I was there for a work function and the wines he selected were indeed excellent. The food, however, was a little lacking. The veal was very tough, and the filet mignon was served almost well done. Dessert was a cheese plate, but no descriptions were given. When asked, Bobby didn't know exactly what the different cheeses were so I had to help him out on naming a few.
When I grow up, I'm going to Bovine University!

Yeah -- veal has always been the worst thing to order at Cafe Lucci. Either tough, or soft in that "too much tenderizer and pounding" sort of way that reminds one of college cafeteria mystery meat. I know they're supposed to have great lasagna, but lasagna is not my first choice at an Italian restaurant.
