OK my family jeweler (I love saying that, it sounds so decadent :)) told me there is a place on S Halsted near Ed's Potsticker House that is a bakery where they also sell amber jewelry. Do any of you know where this is exactly or have a name?

I googled and found a reference to Ace bakery but it looks like it might be a little north in relation to the vague directions I was given. Worst case scenario I have to drive around Bridgeport with the kids for a while and find some good food :)

You are undoubtedly thinking of Healthy Foods. The owner does sell amber jewelry, some of which is behind the counter at the register. I think she keeps some of the better stuff hidden away unless you ask. I noticed a couple purchasing some items the last time I was in the restaurant, which was about a year ago.

The food is hearty and delicious. And there is nothing healthy about it, except the name. My husband always says they should change the name to "Heart Failure Foods" although I suspect that would be bad for their business.

Thanks I did in fact find the place on Saturday and got a very nice amber bracelet. The place looks nice and homey but with Ed's Potsticker House a half a block down I think I will not go there to eat.
