I was just informed by Ms. EC that New City (free paper around town, "Reader-lite" in my household), just published their annual Resto 100 list:
Resto 100 is, as it has been in years past, a list of "essential" restaurants, which is most definitely not synonymous with "best."

Most of this list is fluff, but there are some solid entries. Frankly, I think it's pretty easy to write a list of 100 places, you're bound to hit some good ones.

Anyway, this is my favorite fact-checking blunder/highlight, re:Moto:
His menu may be complex--he prepared a special itinerary for the folks at the local food-crit message board Chowhound which took them almost eight hours to down--but his eats will keep you pounding the pavement long after the novelty wears off.

    Here's the full list:

    Best,
    Michael / EC

Too bad they just didn't get the right board. Always misquoted!

Is that a compliment? "Keep you pounding the pavement"? Are we down on our hands and knees pounding our fists, or playing some street ball? Or is it supposed to imply (and this is really my guess, with the longest stretch I've ever stretched, and I've edited some pretty awful articles) that "pounding the pavement" is a synonym for "coming back"? But maybe we just pace in circles pondering the meaning?

    I hate bad writing.

This year's edition has been published.

    I did the map thing.

Is it possible that the folks at Moto relayed that it was Chowhound rather than LTHForum? (Note that it has since been corrected.)

Cool! Everest is showing up deep in the South Side, though, for some reason.
