Why research when we can wildly speculate and blather while we eat?

I was driving around today, stuffing my face with raw almonds, like I do most days, it seems, not really sure where I was going, but hoping it was good when I got there.

I would grind one, and then another almond with my left molars; and then one, and then another with my right. The left side seemed to accentuate the brighter and sweet notes. The right side brought out more earthy tones of bark and ocher.

Am I alone here? Nobody at home understands me ...

I do believe things taste different on opposite sides of my mouth and different sides of my tongue. Chewing, one gets into a groove of going to the same place to masticate. Mixing it up is a good thing, but it's harder to do than it seems.
