We used to watch the whole Saturday lineup of cooking shows on channel 11 - WTTW: Lydia, Bayless, Test Kitchen, etc. All of a sudden, these shows are no longer on. Does anyone know why these were taken off?

The beg-a-thon started March 5 and runs through at least through Sunday. They eliminate virtually all regular program in favor a schedule heavy on drivel, particularly self-help promoters. The fund-raising is not going too well according to Lewis Lazare's column in the Sun-Times yesterday. Regularly blowing away almost all the programming in which I have any interest does not make me want to contribute. Look for partial return of cooking in a week according to the WTTW/WFMT Program Guide, which I receive because I do give to WFMT.

Some of those shows can also be seen on the other area PBS stations WYCC and WYIN. WYCC is the City Colleges of Chicago and WYIN is the Colleges of Northern Indiana. We get them on Comcast as channels 20 and 21 respectively.
