    i am heading to sikeston,mo. for the redneck bbq contest this weekend
    it is a kcbs contest so we will cook chicken ,ribs, pork & brisket
    should be fun , i'm taken the klose & a WSM
    sikeston,mo. is down I-57 just over the big river
    also home of throwed rolls :mrgreen:
    lambert's cafe . i think i will have time to hit this place

    great time in sikeston,mo.
    we took 27th place out of 41 teams
    we had 600.5716 points
    grand champ. had 666.2858
    last place had 557.7142
    so tough competition .
    entered the Wahtz Zat contest fri. night
    took 3rd with a new york strip , out of 24 teams entered
    good time 8)

    nice showing Phil ...it takes time to get out of middle of the pack believe me..as long as you are having fun and meeting some great BBQ folks thats what counts and what its really all about ...( in spite of how a certain tv show tries to portray it) :)

    Had our own mini-competition here in Dublin last Saturday. Seven cookers and seven bluegrass/gospel groups (Dixie Sonlighters, Georgia Boys Quartet, Bonner Creek and others). Cookers all had smoked butt (one selling whole butts for $20), most had ribs and chicken as well. Best part is that it was FREE except for the cost of que.
