I am an MBA student at Northwestern University, and we are surveying people about their eating habits (specifically around quick-serve restaurants and more specifically about French fries) for a class project. Please tell us what you think! The survey only takes 5-6 minutes and you will be eligible to win a $30 gift card to Amazon. Thanks for your help!

Interesting survey. As for the french fries I'm most likely to order on their own, as a meal, the top two would be the garlic fries at fRed Hots and the truffle fries at Fox and Obel.

I hope this means that a premium late-night fries place with wonderful sauces is about to appear in my neighborhood

One trouble with the survey, as with many, is that what one is likely to do, what one prefers, etc. is so dependent on immediate circumstances that it just doesn't seem meaningfully reducibe to an avg. per week calculation.

Am I alone? With friends? At home? Near home? Bar-hopping? Drunk? Is it a week night? Weekend? Etc. etc.Totally dfferent responses to different conditions.

Of course, customized fresh-fried fries are currently available in a number of places...I'd be interested to see if the survey shows a market for a late-night stand-alone custom fry place that serves nothing else (isn't there a thread somewhere here about one of those places? Wasn't there one in NYC? My google-fu is weak today) I know many of these Kellogg projects are strictly virtual, but I think this one's been done.

BTW - another survey point - there is a considerable gap between "1-2 X per week" and "Never" that might offer you some important data.

The question I don't particularly like: "If you consider yourself a generally healthy eater, how often do you allow yourself to indulge on what you consider to be unhealthy foods?"

You can drown from drinking too much water. Is water healthy or unhealthy?

Pommes Frites on 2nd Avenue (@St. Mark's) in NYC...they are amazing. I've dreamed of opening a clone (pretty sure it could work at the six-corners in Wicker Park, or just off Michigan Ave).

What about the place at the French Market?

There was also Le Frite Kot on W 4th in the Village. But it seems they've now closed.
