I was listening to a podcast of a French radio program, "On va déguster" ("We're going to taste") this interview with chef Daniel Rose, originally from Chicago. The program, entirely in French except for a few words of hip English, consists of Rose talking about his decision to open his restaurant, called Spring, in Paris, and Ariane Daguine talking about making the reverse trip: going to the US to open her restaurant, D'Artagnan.

Since discussions of where to eat in Paris are usually pretty lively, I thought this might be of interest to those who can understand French.

Thanks for the link. I look forward to downloading the episode when I get home. Do you like the program in general? I have some podcast burn-out and am looking to change up the ones to which I subscribe, in different languages. I'd love to find good French-language food programs.

I haven't listened to it for very long, but so far, I do enjoy this program. Its limitation is also the thing I like about it (so far): they focus on particular people and what they're doing, so that a program on traditional pastries, for instance, features interviews with two pastry chefs, rather than clips from half a dozen people saying what they know about French pastry. It's more conversational, a sort of chat about a topic, rather than analytic. And the music clips are good, too!

I don't think Ariane Daguin ever had a restaurant in the U.S. Her father was a chef in France, but D'Artagnan is a gourmet food company that she started to sell foie gras.
