I love how Griggs is still blaming the writer who tried to protect her copyright. “I really wish she had given me a chance to respond to her before blasting me. She really never gave me a chance"? Er, what about that letter claiming the writer should compensate the magazine for "editing"?

There are few things more satisfying than a villain who still doesn't get it, even while going down in flames.

I don't know, I find mea culpas very satisfying indeed.

I agree in general. But I tend to find mea culpas more likely to be satisfying when I have the sense that they are (i) sincere, which is usually because the person (ii) gets it. And, as Dom suggests, I don't have any sense of either here. And while I don't condone some of the outrageous things that have transpired, it seems pretty clear to me that this woman is very nearly completely clueless.

Web Censorship Bill Sails Through Senate Committee
On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved a bill that would give the Attorney General the right to shut down websites with a court order if copyright infringement is deemed “central to the activity” of the site — regardless if the website has actually committed a crime. The Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA) is among the most draconian laws ever considered to combat digital piracy, and contains what some have called the “nuclear option,” which would essentially allow the Attorney General to turn suspected websites “off.”

While this is aimed at copyrights related to movies and music, you never know where it may be applied.
