Noticed this recently and was a little amused. I love butter and a lot of buttery dishes are totally worth their bad consequences. Its beyond me why anybody would have this though! It does not sound worth the clogged arteries. http://eater.com/archives/2011/08/10/a- ... e-fair.php

It's the Iowa State Fair. There's no point in going if all you do is have a hot dog and a Coke, which you could have anywhere at any time of the year. The whole point is to see a 2,768 lb. bull named Bubba, or the biggest sheep and the biggest pig, ride the roller-coaster, and eat some crazy fried thing you can tell people about for the rest of the year.
Based on the descriptions, the fried butter on a stick seems like a sort of deep-fried cinnamon roll.

Brownies and pies are different from a stick of butter. Im not puzzled by the process of deep frying something, rather the deep frying of a stick of butter.
