Thanks, Steve. As keeper of the flame for this cultural artefact here at LTH, I was going to post a link myself. You beat me to it, but I can add that The Aristocrats is only playing in New York and Los Angeles until the nationwide distribution on August 12. I presume no one plans to form a line and camp out for the next two weeks in front of a box office, Star Wars style. But just in case, do let me know.

I've been dying to see Kevin Pollack doing Christopher Walken doing the joke, so I'll stand in line with you. And tell you my friend Scott's story about running into Walken at the grocery store.

O.K, Mike; and I'll buy you that beer I owe you. Or maybe six or eight, which is probably what we'll need to get in the proper Aristocratic frame of mind. By the way, I note from the Aristocrat's website that the movie will be playing at Loews Piper's Alley and Esquire 6, beginning August 12.

The lineup of "Aristocrats" is quite impressive! I can't wait. I'll be in line with you.

Been looking forward to it for a long time -- if an LTH Night at the Movies is coalescing, I'm in line too.

Did this ever get put together? I've been out of town for the past week [without phone or internet connection... twitch, twitch] and really want to see the movie... and the more people guffawing along the better.

    Jim,

As keeper of the LTH Aristocratic Torch, do you want to put this together?

Beth and her brother and I are planning on making it to The Aristocrats next friday. Although I just made cafe spiaggia reservations for 7:45, so, uh, maybe that won't work.

It's a shame they're only showing it on fridays hereabouts.

Most certainly, although I'll need some input on appropriately Aristocratic food choices near Piper's Alley (where it is playing). Also, a confession -- Mrs. JiLS and I couldn't wait, and hit the matinee today. The Aristocrats is all you could possibly hope ... or fear ... Best versions: magician who does the bit with cards; a street mime version; and Bob Saget (no, the Olson Twins are not involved). My only complaint is that they didn't just let the camera roll on most of the performances, even the centerpiece presentations like Gilbert Godfrey's legendary performance at the 2001 Friar's Club Roast. Perhaps the Platinum Collector's Edition DVD, when it is released, will solve this minor quibble.

Anyway, regarding the food, I'd like a place with the following Aristocratic features:

    1. Dirty Martinis
    2. "Family Style" service
    3. Pets welcome
    4. Cigar smoking allowed
    6. Service that bends over backwards

Maybe Father and Son on North Ave.?
    :)

Let's aim for next Friday, August 19. I have a chiropractor's appointment the next morning, so this would be ideal for me.

So, did Mrs. JiLS and I see some counterfeit version at 12:45 this (Saturday) afternoon? :?

Really? That's great news. The aristocrats website claimed it'd only be on the 12th and 19th in the chicago area.

Well, damn, maybe we'll make it to a saturday matinee if we can find one. Will it be at piper's alley next week, too?

Unless the Mayor shuts it down, they ought to be playing at Piper's next Saturday. In fact, I think they've got it going on two screens at Piper's Alley, and it's even playing in Highland Park (probably Cathy2 pulling some strings, there). Here's the link to Fandango
