In the new Chicago Magazine, Chef Bowles mentioned the potential for a run for Alderman some time in the future, with the thought of running against Joe Moore (49th).

It is a bit late since we would need to get the signatures on file by mid-December, but if we wanted to start a Draft Graham movement, it could be done.

Of course, if Chef Bowles is interested in having some experience in the process now. the Brendan Reilly for Alderman (42nd) would like to meet with him. Unlike Alderman Natarus, he can rest assured that an Alderman Reilly will never tell a great chef would he should be cooking.

I'm sure Chef Bowles is well-versed in sausage making. One would expect him to be a quick study at politics.
Man : I can't understand how a poet like you can eat that stuff.
    T. S. Eliot: Ah, but you're not a poet.

His best credential ever, in my book:

Elliot told Eater: "When he ate at Charlie Trotter's and live tweeted through the whole meal how shitty it was, to me that's so egregiously over the line that I absolutely will not have someone like that at my establishment." Elliot said that he'd never done this to anyone before, but if he'd been there, he would have removed Dolinsky personally.

    I'd never heard that story.

    I'd vote for G.E.B.

I don't live in Chicago but I'm sure something can be arranged.

My brother lives across the street from Joe Moore's Chicago address (doesn't appear to be where he actually lives -- just occasional parties, to meet the residency requirement). I'm sure my brother would be delighted to put a sign for GEB in his front yard.

Throwing him out of a Restaurant for something he did months earlier at another restaurant seems a little extreme. He certainly could have expressed his displeasure with Steve's past behavior in other ways. Actually, an article on restaurant blogging for which he was interviewed a while back, now makes a lot more sense. Nevertheless, I would still vote for any Chef who would stop and buy a round of Norkie's Porkys for his entire kitchen staff. He obviously knows what this Ward has to offer. Anybody want to help me with a website. I just reserved GEBforthe49th.org . Having a Famous chef go up against the would-be banner of Foies Gras is just to much irony to pass on.

PS do you think sd' s dining partner had the initials "sp"?

Not to digress, but tweeting during a meal? On any level, that's pretty rude. Experience the meal. Take notes or photos if necessary. But give the whole meal a chance before commenting on any part of it. Plus, bringing out the cell phone during a meal is rude no matter what it is being used for.

That's even worse. Anybody using a cell phone in either a washroom or a locker room is a complete creep.
