    I've slowly been finding my way through the many great documentaries that the Southern Foodways Alliance has posted on the web. I mentioned one made of the Cochon de Lait festival at the foot of crrush's great post on the subject.

    There's a complete index at: http://southernfoodways.org/documentary/film/index.html

    My favorites (in no order) so far:
    * To Live and Die in Avoyelles Parish (Cochon de Lait festival, Mansura, LA)
    * Cut/Chop/Cook (Scott's Barbeque, Hemingway, SC)
    * Cured (Allan Benton, Madisonville, TN)
    * Phat tai (Peter & Sau Nguyen, Biloxi, MS)

    I dare you to watch "Phat tai" and not be driven mad at the thought of eating the fresh catch with them on the shrimper boat.

    A roadtrip to Helen's in Brownsville is imminent. Wonderful work by SFA as usual.

    Wow. Just incredible videos. Thanks Joe for pointing these out.

    Obviously the Benton's video was close to my heart, but I enjoyed them all.
