The University of Mississippi seeks a tenure-track assistant professor who studies foodways in the American South. The successful candidate will have a joint appointment in the Southern Studies program and either the English, History, or Sociology/Anthropology Department. Tenure will reside in one of those three departments. The teaching load, divided between the Southern Studies program and the relevant department, will be four or five courses per year, one of which will be a Southern Studies course, Foodways and Southern Culture. University service will include frequent collaboration with the Southern Foodways Alliance, an institute of the Center for the Study of Southern Culture.
